Same-day care when dental pain can't wait

Greenwood Emergency Dentist

Emergency dental care, without the runaround

Call us at (317) 535-7141, and we’ll keep same-day spots open for exactly this. A tooth that cracked on a popcorn kernel, a crown that came loose, pain that woke you up at 2 a.m., none of it waits for a convenient time, and you should not have to either.

When you need a Greenwood emergency dentist, Hoosier Family Dental gets you in fast, finds what is actually going on, and tells you straight what it will take to fix it. Dr. McBride sees emergencies even if you have never been in before, so you are not left calling around while you are hurting.

When to call us right away

Severe or constant tooth pain

  • A knocked-out, cracked, or broken tooth
  • A lost crown or filling
  • Swelling in the gums, jaw, or face
  • Bleeding that won't stop after 15 minutes

Not sure if it counts? Call anyway at (317) 535-7141. We would rather take a quick look than have you wait it out and hope.

Don’t wait it out

Dental problems rarely fix themselves. A small ache can turn into an infection, and a chip can split further the longer it sits. Reach out, and we will tell you what to do next. Come in today or stay it safely until we can see you. Same-day relief from your Greenwood emergency dentist usually starts with one phone call at (317) 535-7141.

Seen the same day

We hold room in the schedule every day for urgent visits, so you are not stuck waiting a week in pain.

Pain handled first

Getting you comfortable comes first. We ease the pain, then talk through what caused it.

Honest answers, upfront

You will hear exactly what is wrong, what your choices are, and what each one costs before anything happens. No surprises on the way out.

No judgment, ever

However long it has been since your last visit, you will not get a lecture. We offer oral sedation, too, if nerves are part of what kept you away.

Straight talk from Dr. McBride

You get a clear read on the problem and honest options — not a sales pitch. Dr. McBride tells you what is going on and lets you decide what is right for you.

We actually run on time

Emergencies are stressful enough without a two-hour wait. Running on time is something we are known for, and it matters most on the day you are in pain.

Same-day room, even for new patients

You do not have to be an established patient to be seen. If you are in Greenwood, Bargersville, Franklin, or anywhere in southern Indianapolis and you are hurting, call us.

Modern tools, faster answers

Intraoral cameras and AI-assisted x-rays help us pinpoint the problem quickly and show you exactly what we see, so the plan makes sense to you too.

Why Greenwood families choose Hoosier Family Dental

New here? Your first visit is $99

If this emergency is also your introduction to us, welcome. New patients get a full exam, x-rays, and cleaning for $99 — a simple way to get established and know where your oral health stands.

What to do before you reach us

A few minutes of the right first aid can protect your tooth and ease the pain on your way in.

Knocked-out tooth

Pick it up by the crown, not the root. Rinse it gently and try to slip it back into the socket. If you can’t, keep it in a cup of milk and call us right away — a knocked-out tooth has the best odds when it is treated within an hour.

Broken or chipped tooth

Rinse with warm water and save any pieces. Use a cold compress on the outside of your cheek to keep swelling down, and avoid chewing on that side until we see you.

Swelling or jaw pain

Swelling can be a sign of infection that needs prompt care. Use a cold compress, take acetaminophen for relief, and call us — don’t put aspirin directly on the gum or tooth.

Lost crown or filling

Hang on to the crown if you have it. Cover the exposed tooth with dental wax or sugar-free gum to protect it, and bring the crown with you so we can try to re-seat it.

How an emergency visit works here

01

Call and tell us what happened. We figure out how urgent it is and get you scheduled, usually the same day.

02

We get you comfortable. Easing the pain comes first, before any longer conversation.

03

We show you what we see. Using the intraoral camera and x-rays, we walk through the problem so it actually makes sense.

04

We agree on a plan together. You get honest options and the cost up front, then we treat it and map out any next steps before you leave.

Meet Dr. McBride

An Indiana native and IU School of Dentistry graduate, Dr. Rob McBride founded Hoosier Family Dental to bring honest, personal care to Greenwood. He practices alongside Dr. Chloe McBride, coaches youth soccer, volunteers with the Special Olympics, and serves on dental mission trips abroad. When you come in for an emergency, you are seen by people who treat this community like neighbors.

Insurance & payment

We work with most major plans and file out-of-network claims for you, so cost does not stand between you and relief. We are in-network with Delta Dental (PPO and Premier), UnitedHealthcare, and Guardian. For patients without insurance, CareCredit financing and our in-house membership plans help — the Smile Saver plan even includes a yearly emergency exam and diagnostic x-ray. Not sure about coverage? Call and we will sort it out before your visit.

Your Questions, Answered

What counts as a dental emergency?

M
L
Any dental problem with severe pain, bleeding, swelling, or a damaged tooth that needs prompt attention. Common ones include a knocked-out or broken tooth, a lost crown or filling, a bad toothache, or facial swelling. When in doubt, call and we will help you decide.

Can I get a same-day emergency appointment in Greenwood?

M
L

Usually, yes. As your Greenwood emergency dentist, we keep same-day appointments open for urgent needs and work to see you as quickly as possible when you call (317) 535-7141.

Do you see emergency patients who aren't already with you?

M
L
Yes. You do not need to be an established patient. New patients are welcome for emergencies and treated with the same care as everyone else.

What should I do if my tooth gets knocked out?

M
L
Handle it by the crown, rinse it gently, and try to put it back in the socket. If that is not possible, store it in milk and call us immediately. Treating it within the first hour gives the tooth the best chance of being saved.

How much will an emergency visit cost?

M
L
It depends on the problem and the treatment. You will get the cost before we begin, we work with most insurance plans, and we will walk through payment options — including CareCredit and our membership plans — so care stays affordable.

What if I have dental anxiety?

M
L
You are not alone, and we take it seriously. We offer oral sedation to help you feel calm and comfortable, even before you sit in the chair. Just mention it when you call.

What if my emergency happens after hours?

M
L
Call the office and follow the instructions for urgent care. For severe bleeding that won't stop, trouble breathing, or a serious facial injury, go to the nearest emergency room first, then follow up with us for the dental repair.
